An exceptionally unique and handcrafted fine art tray. Let's begin with the skull: world class marquetry by my good friend Elena (@woodsimka on Instagram). Each piece of wood is cut individually by Elena and dipped in a plate of hot sand to shade the wood, giving the skull dimension and intrigue. Floral pyrography is reminiscent of highly stylized acanthus leaves, drawn and burned by hand, complementing the skull in an almost Victorian-like composition. The frame is solid black walnut carved to bring texture and focus the eye on the skull centerpiece. Mahogany backer is branded with my logo and set in place with solid brass screws. Finished in food shade shellac.
